Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Appstract Studio for using Wordsnap. Installing or using the app means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

Your account

You need an account to play. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old.

Playing fairly

Wordsnap is a game about photographing real objects in front of you. You agree not to:

• submit photographs of screens, printouts or other people's pictures in place of a real object;
• automate, script or otherwise fake snaps, scores, streaks or rankings;
• upload anything unlawful, abusive, or that shows another person without their agreement;
• interfere with the service or try to reach parts of it you have not been given access to.

Snaps are checked automatically. We may reject a snap, remove content, or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Rejected snaps do not cost you a daily snap.

Your content

Your photographs remain yours. By uploading them you give us the permission we need to run the game: to store them, to process them for recognition and verification, to create sticker cut-outs, and to display them to you and — while your scrapbook is public — to other players. You can end that permission by deleting the content or your account.

Wordsnap Pro

Wordsnap is free to play, with a daily snap allowance and a limited number of live rounds. Wordsnap Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that removes those limits, gives you four hearts on the daily letter instead of two, unlocks Pro-only badges, and removes ads.

Prices are in US dollars and may differ in your local currency and with local tax. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the period. Manage the subscription and turn auto-renew off in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. If you take the free trial and do not cancel before it ends, it becomes a paid subscription; any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

Apple is the merchant. Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms, not by us.

The game may change

This is a live game. Letters, challenges, scoring, hearts, the vocabulary and the badge list all change over time as we balance it. We may add, alter or withdraw features. Where a change materially reduces what a paid subscription gives you, you can cancel and Apple's refund terms apply.

Our content

The app, its artwork, badges, name and logo belong to Appstract Studio. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer them beyond what the law allows you to do regardless of this agreement.

No warranty, and what we are liable for

Wordsnap is provided as it is. Object recognition is imperfect and will sometimes be wrong; scores, rankings and streaks depend on it, and we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by deleting your account in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close your account without cause and you have paid for a subscription, ask Apple for a refund of the unused part.

Apple

These terms are between you and Appstract Studio, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms of Service.
